      Obituary: Unknown Publication, June 1944

Bethalona A. Stone Moneymaker was born July 30, 1869 at Iberia, Mo. She was the daughter of John B. and Appline Stone. She departed this life June 12, 1944, being 74 years, 10 months and 18 days old at the time of her death.

She was united in marriage to Frank Moneymaker January 4, 1891, and to this union 7 children were born, three boys and four girls-Charles Moneymaker of Onion, Ky.; John Moneymaker of Brumley; William Lee who died in infancy; Mrs. Grace Brown of Yuma, Ariz.; Blanche Vaughan, of Eldon; Eunice Cochran of Brumley; Fern Cochran of Iberia.

Mrs. Moneymaker obeyed the gospel early in life at Hickory Point, under the preaching of J. B. Giddens. Later she moved her membership to Pleasant Hill and a number of years ago united with the Church of Christ at Mt. Union and was a faithful member unto the end.

Our hearts were all made heavy because of the passing of Sister Moneymaker, but we are not sorrowing as we would be if there was not any hope. Her everlasting and never dying faith in god and His dear son helps us all to look beyond this vale of tears to that city which hath foundations whose builder and maker is God, where there is no suffering, no sorrowing, no more and farewells, and where God, with his own hand will wipe away all tears and we can be with Him for ten thousand years and time will be no shorter than when it first began. At this time we feel like our loss will be her eternal gain in the great and last day when we came to stand before the king. Paul said: "Eye has not seen, ear has not heard, neither has it entered into the heart of man the good things the Lord has prepared for those that love him." This alone is worth more than all the world to us in this hour.

She leaves to mourn her going her husband, two sons and four daughters, 38 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, two sisters, Ida Denton of Dixon and Della Stone of Los Angeles, Calif., one brother, John W. Stone, also of Los Angeles, and a large number of other relatives and friends.

It is today we lay the fleshly tabernacle in the silent city of the dead to await the resurrection morning, when all that are in the graves shall come forth, they that have done good unto the resurrection of life and those who have done evil to resurrection of damnation.

We feel that our loved one will be with those on the right hand and will hear the Lord say, "Well done, faithful servant, enter thou into the joy of the Lord." Enter into this kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. Le us who are left behind take courage and press on and up toward the mark for the prize, high calling as it is in Christ.

Yes, be faithful to the end and receive the crown which is incorruptible and undefeated, that fadeth not away, which is reserved in Glory for us. The writer conducted services after which the body was laid in the silent city of the dead to await the resurrection morning.
      Card of Thanks

At this time we wish to thank Dr. Jones for his untiring efforts to prolong the life of our dear wife and mother, also Adams & Casey Funeral Home for their kindness in our sad hour, which helps so much. Thanks to all our friends and loved ones who sent flowers. Thanks to everyone who so kindly and so willingly assisted us all the way throughout her illness, death and burial.

      Thanks Nancy Arnold Thompson
