Amanda E. Shahan, aged 60 years and 20 days, died at her home on June 19, 1901. Sister Shahan had been invalid for two years and had suffered greatly, but through it all she was patient, kind and thoughtful for others. She had lived a consistent Christian life and died a triumphant death. She leaves eight children and a great number of friends to mourn her loss, her husband and two children having passed on before her. In the death of Sister Shahan her children have lost the counsel and advice of a kind and loving mother, the community a good neighbor and the church a staunch friend, but our loss is heaven's gain. The funeral services were conducted at her home by her pastor.
