      I, Sally Rhea, of the County of Lincoln and State of Tennessee, knowing the uncertainty of this mortal life, and the Certainty of death, do make and declare the following to by my Last will and Testament, never having made any other or former will.
      First, it is my will that after my decease, that my boy be buried in a plain & Christian like manner.
      Second, it is my will that my Just debts, if any, then be paid, and my funeral expenses be paid out of my estate, as soon after my decease as possible.
      Third, it is my will that after my death, my negro woman Kizzy and her two children, to wit, Tilda and Alfred, be sold upon a credit of Twelve months, taking good and Sufficient Security for the purchase money out of the proceeds of which sale I give to my daughter Sally Ann Broyles and the heirs of her body, one Third, to my daughter Susan M. McLaughlin and the heirs of her body, on third, and to my Grand daughter, Frances S. E. Smith, one Third. It is further my will that my negro boy John be sold at the same time, and upon the same terms out of the proceeds of which I give and bequeath to my daughter Mary B. Smith & the heirs of her body, fifty dollars, to Attaman Isom & the heirs of her body, forty Dollars. To Rufus Smith, my Grand son twenty-five dollars. I also give and bequeath to my Grand Daughter Frances S.E. Smith, my feather bed, with the Last bedstead I purchased with my two newest coverlets, my bed blankets with two Demity Counterpins, one broken with cords, three sheets and two new quilts. I also give to her one of my new corded Table cloths, also a Large white figured one that I purchased, I also give to her four Ewes of the best of my stock, with their lambs, if they should have them. I also give to my said Grand daughter Frances S. E. Smith my cow known as Motty Fan, also my Largest heifer, also my young horse. I also give to her ten of my best hogs, also the Sow that I purchased of Mrs. Guiden, with her eight pigs. I also give to her a Small Table, also a Bureau that was her mothers, at her death, also a candle Stand. I give to my daughter Attamira Isom, two of my Sheep Ewes, with their Lambs. I give to my son Brice M.G. Rhea four sheep, the balance of my sheep to be equally divided between my daughters Susan M. McLaughlin & Sally Ann Broyles. I give to my son Brice M.G. Rhea, a Bed, bedstead, and furniture, I give and bequeath unto my daughter Attamira Isom, my feather Bed, Bedstead & furniture, that I usually occupy, I also give her my dining table, I give and bequeath to my daughter Susan M. McLaughlin, one bed, bedstead and furniture. I give and bequeath unto my son Pleasant V. Rhea, a feather Bed, bedstead and furniture, or the proceeds, if he should prefer its being sold. I give to Son-in-Law, Jacob Broyles and Susan M. McLaughlin, the balance of my hogs, to be equally divided between them. I also give to my Son-in-Law Jacob Broyles and Susan M. McLaughlin, my two work oxen, also the balance of my Cattle except on unbroker Steer which I give to my Son, W.B. Rhea. I also give to my son William B. Rhea, my largest kettle. I also give to my daughter-in-law, Nancy Rhea, thirty Dollars. I give and bequeath to my son-in-Law, Jacob Broyles, my largest mule, I direct that my other two mules be sold & the proceeds to be equally divided between my daughters, Polly & Susan. I also give to my daughter Susan my Sideboard and press. I give to my daughter Sally Ann Broyles my largest oven. I also give to my Daughters Sally Ann and Susan M. my Brass Kettle & tea kettle, to be divided between them as they may see proper. I give and bequeath to my daughter Sally Ann and my Grand daughter Francis S. E. Smith, my Stock of Geese and Ducks, to be equally divided between them. I desire that my clock, my writing desk, my farming tools, crop of wheat & Grainery crop shall be Sold and the proceeds applied first to inclose with a Substantial rock fence, the place where my husband and myself and others of my family may be buried, and the balance, if any, to be equally divided between my daughters, Susan, Sally Ann and my Grand Daughter Frances S. E. Smith.
      I give and bequeath to my Son Pleasant V. Rhea, the amount of money arising from the Sale of the boy John, not herein before disposed of. Should my Grand daughter Frances S. E. Smith died without children living, at her death, it is my will that all the property herein before given to her, shall be equally divided between my daughters, Susan, Sally Ann and my Grandson, Rufus A. Smith. I give and bequeath the property of every description herein before Given, to my daughters, Susan, Sally Ann, Atemira and Polly B. & to my Grand daughter Frances E. Smith, to my son William B. Rhea upon trust that he will Lend out the Same from time to time, and appropriate the interest to the use and support of my said daughter and Granddaughter, respectfully, to whom Said Legacies are bequeathed and Should Said Trustee think the ease and comfort of my Said daughters and Grand-daughters would be promoted by having possession of any part of the property bequeathed therein except the money, he is as Liberty to let them have possession of Same.
      At the death of my Said daughters & Granddaughter I desire that the legacies bequeathed to them respectfully, shall be equally divided among their children, respectfully. My said Grand-daughter after She arrives at the age of twenty on years, and my said daughters are to be at liberty at any time they think proper to receive from said Trustee, the whole or any part of their Said Legacies upon giving to Said Trustee receipts therefor, in the presence of, and attested by two witnesses. I do constitute and appoint my Son-in-Law, Jacob Broyles executor of this my Last will and Testament. Witness my hand & Seal this 13th day of June 1844.
