    • If William and Kesiah did marry in Ashe Co, it is likely that it wasafter the 1800 census, as the only OSBORN household with someone in their early 20's is that of one Robert Osborn, and there is no William.

BIOGRAPHY: I currently have no proof of who William's father is.
      -
I believe William first appears with his siblings on the 1810 Barren Co, KY census, with 2 sons and 3 daughters under the age of 10.
      -
By 1820, I believe William is correctly identified on the 1820 Crawford Co, IN census enumerated as follows:
      M 10-16 - 2 Larkin (12); Eli (14)
      M 26-45 - 1 William (43)
      F < 10 - 5 Matilda (0); Elizabeth (4); Ruth (5); Lydia (6); ?
      F 10-16 - 1 ?
      F 16-26 - 1 Rebecca (18)
      F 26-45 - 1 Kesiah (40)
      -
Moses Pennington, Rebecca's father-in-law, is also enumerated on this census.
      -
I found on-line a history of New Salem Township, McDonough Co, IL <http://www.macomb.com/~ilmcdono/townships/NewSalem1885.html> which states: "Camp creek has its origin in New Salem township. The stream was so named from the fact that William Osborn camped on its banks all the summer of 1828." The 1830 McDonough Co census enumerates him as follows:
      M < 5 - 1
      M 20-30 - 1 Larkin* (22)
      M 50-60 - 1 William (53)
      F < 5 - 2
      F 5-10 - 2 Malinda (9); Matilda (10)
      F 10-15 - 2 Elizabeth (14); Ruth (15)
      F 40-50 - 1 Kesiah (50)
      *Larkin married in 1831
      -
The first sermon preached in New Salem Twp, was delivered at the house of William Osborn, by the Rev. Harris, a Baptist minister, in the summer of 1834.

BIRTH: Enumerated in the 1820 census as 26-45.

DEATH: His will was dated 6 Apr 1836. One of the witnesses is his son-in-law, William Pennington.
