      Aleen Sooter, 76, of Brumley died Sunday, Oct. 10, 1999, at Miller County Nursing Home in Tuscumbia. She was born March 11, 1923, in Miller County to Bert and Rhett Luttrell Strutton. On Aug. 17, 1960, she was married in Kirksville to Ercil Ernest Sooter, who died Nov. 4, 1979.

      Surviving her are three sons, Norman DeGraffenreid and Frank DeGraffenreid, both of Eldon, and Harold DeGraffenreid of Tuscumbia; a daughter, Charlotte Carson of Kansas City, Kan.; a brother, Dennis Strutton of Eldon; three sisters, Ruth Swortz and Bonnie McKee, both of the state of California, and Dorliss Strange of the state of Louisiana; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

      Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. The Rev. Charles Caldwell officiated. Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery near Tuscumbia. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
