      Alexander Bready was in Co. H, 8th Regiment Tennessee Volunteers. All company letters were changed at the reorganization on May 8, 1862. Co. H became Co. K. A report from Company "K" dated January 9, 1864 stated that this company was organized April 24, 1861, at Mulberry Station, Lincoln County; was received into state service at Camp Harris, Franklin County; and organized as part of the 8th Tennessee Infantry Regiment at Camp Trousdale. He was captured at Harrisburgh, Kentucky, on Oct. 11, 1862 and sent to City Point, Virginia on Feb. 7, 1863, for exchange.On December 1863 Alex was employed on extra duty as a Teamster. Alex remained a Teamster until he was killed on November 30, 1864, at the "Battle of Franklin" in Franklin, Tennessee. Alex was 35 years old at the time of his death.
