MARY VIOLA (Sipe) STRUTTON July 14, 1861 - April 14, 1931 Mary Viola Strutton (nee Sipe) was born July 14, 1861 and died April 14, 1931 at her home in Crocker. She would have been 70 years old in July and was talking much of her 70th birthday expecting to call in her relatives and children to enjoy the day with her, but God in His wisdom has seen fit to call her to higher ground; to enjoy the company of those gone before. She was married to Elisha Strutton March 10, 1889. To this union were born six children, 3 girls and 3 boys. Two girls and one boy preceded her to the great beyond. She leaves to mourn her death one daughter, Ella Catherine Strutton, and two sons, Ben and Bert Strutton, 11 grandchildren, one stepson and family, two sisters, Kate Pilkinton, of Iberia, and Matilda Barber, of Versailes, and one brother, John W. Sipe, of Springfield, all of whom were here for the funeral. Grandma, as she was called, was a mother to all who knew her, kind to her children and devoted to her family. She was always ready to pass a joke to cheer her friends and always ready to talk of Jesus and her home in glory. She was always at church and Sunday School when able to go. Her face will be so sadly missed By those who knew her well Her place no one else can fill As all of us can tell. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon at the Christian church by her pastor, Chas. H. Moneymaker. Burial wasat Concord cemetery west of town under direction of J.L. Hoops & Sons, funeral directors.
