"I would be glad to fill in some information on descendants of Hezekiah, especially descendants of John Wesley. Also have much information on John, son of Absolum, such as his movement and living on what is called Stratton Meadows, on the Tennessee-North Carolina border, his father's burial there, his sons having divided loyalties and serving on opposing sides during the Civil War.
If you are interested, I will pass on what I have. My grandmother Rhoda Jane Stratton (Sloan) gave me the Bibles of her grandfather, John Wesley Stratton (sometimes spelled Strutton), and I have gathered various items belonging to my great grandfather, Stephen Lafayette Stratton, who had a store, mill and shoe repair business in Acorn, Tennessee, near the burial site of John Stratton and Alydia Clark Stratton (Ebenezar Baptist Church Cemetery in the Ballplay community).
Will have to look in my notes, as most information was gathered 20 to 30 years ago, but would like to correspond."

"Don't know if you have any of this or not but will commence with what I found.

Stratton b 1854 married 40 years b TN occupation "sawer" (sic) Note: They worked in a saw mill but called it planing mill) owned home free and clear; Margaret wife b 1855 12 children 7 living b TN Robert son b 1892 b TN laborer; Nettie daughter b 1893 TN. None are survivors of the Union or Confederate Army. (On this census they actually requested the year of birth and how long married and how many children and how many living). The facts are accurate as far as the information is obtained from the family.

Sorry it all isn't in chronological order but then researching never is, sort of hit and miss. I yell BINGO when I hit. Good luck closing"
